Medical Herbalist
Alice has a long-standing interest in health and wellness. Her interest in food and herbs for health goes back to her childhood in Mozambique where she learnt from her mother bla bla bla.
Alice studied Herbal Medicine at the University of Westminster, graduating with a BSc (Honours) in Herbal Medicine in 2009.
She is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) and the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy (CPP).

Herbal Medicine
Herbal Medicine is the oldest form of medicine. It has been practiced for thousands of years and according to the World Health Organisation, is still the most used form of medicine today.
Why “Hippopot”?
Where does the name Hippopot come from?
The founder of Hippopot, Alice Nugent, recalls as a child seeing families of hippopotamus chilling in the waters of the Zambezi river between Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique.
Alice learned much from her mother in rural Mozambique about the health benefits of plants. She later took her learning to a higher level gaining a degree in Herbal Medicine from the University of Westminster.
When Alice started to practice as a qualified Medical Herbalist, and to develop her own brand of herbal teas, she was inspired by the hippos of her childhood, chilling in the waters of the Zambezi River.
